Uniworth International Limited was incorporated on 19th June 1992 as a Public Limited Company in the State of West Bengal and obtained the Certificate of Commencement of Business on 9th July 1992 from the Registrar of Companies, West Bengal at Calcutta.

UIL, as a part of the UNIWORTH GROUP has been promoted by Woolworth (India) Limited (WIL) and the NRI Lohias headed by Shri N.R. Lohia, a Non-resident Indian, assisted by his son Shri A.P. Lohia.
