Mideast (India) Ltd. (formerly known as Mideast Shipping company (India) Ltd.) was incorporated as a Public Limited company on 28th July, 1977 and obtained the certificate of commencement of business on 28th November, 1977 from the registrar of companies, Delhi & Haryana at New Delhi. The company obtained from the registrar of companies, Delhi & Haryana at New Delhi on 29.3.1990 a certificate consequent upon change of name as Mideast (India) Limited. The company started with a leather garments manufacturing unit at Noida (U.P.). The unit commenced commercial production in 1983.

Mideast (India) Ltd., the flagship company of the Mesco group, was promoted by Mrs. Rita Singh and Mr. J.K. Singh and Mr. D.K. Singh for setting up of a leather garments manufacturing unit at Noida, Dist., Ghaziabad in Uttar pradesh.

The company is presently engaged in the manufacture and export of leather garments, leather footwear and other leather products. At present it has five units at Noida and one unit at Madras. The company has already successfully commissioned both the phases of the existing shoe project for which it had entered the capital market with its maiden public issue in January, 1992.

Consequent upon the aforesaid expasion, the company now has an installed capacity of 12 lacs pairs per annum and has also an in-house facility to manufacture major shoe components like soles, insoles, toe-puffs, counters and heels for 12 lacs pairs per annum.

The company's joint venture in Russia, Marita Mesco and the joint venture tannery in Zambia have gone on stream in 1992 with facilities for processing pig skins and cow hides for manufacture of semi finished/finished leather & leather products.

M/s. Bally International Limited of Switzerland have provided technical know-how and upgraded both the phases of the shoe project to manufacture premium quality shoes meeting international standards of highly competitive and fashion conscious European markets. M/s. Bally International Limited are assisting Mideast in estblishing its brand name in the European markets and in marketing its products abroad.
