1978 - The Company was incorporated as a private limited company at Surat in the name Wedge Wire Screens Pvt. Ltd., on 22nd December. Letter of intent for the manufacture of Wedge Wire Screen was obtained by the promoters in favour of Hindustan Boilers, Mumbai
was transferred to the name of the Company. The objective of the company is to manufacture wedge wire screens.

1982

- The Company was converted into a public limited company on 25th November and the name of the company was changed to Gujarat Wedge wire Screens Ltd. It was promoted jointly by Gujarat Industrial Investment Corporation Ltd. (GIIC) and Behubar Investment Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Jardine Henderson Ltd.

1985

- 1,25,050 No. of equity shares issued to GIIC, 90,490 No. of equity shares issued to Behubar Investment, Ltd., and Associates and 40,000 No. of equity shares to N. Greening Ltd., U.K.

1986

- The company supplied Wedge Wire Screens to coal waheries, sugar mills, solvent extraction and chemical plants, etc.

- 6,67,120 shares issued at par out of which the following shares were reserved and allotted:

- (i) 68,650 shares to GIIC;

- (ii) 95,870 shares to Behubar Investment, Ltd. & Associates and

- (iii) 80,000 shares to N. Greening, Ltd., U.K (40,000 shares pending allotment).

- Out of the remaining 3,22,800 shares, the following shares were reserved for preferential allotment:

- (i) 16,100 shares to employee (including working directors) of the company and promoters companies (only 4,600 shares taken up) and

- (ii) 6,400 shares to business associates of the company (only 6,300 shares taken up).

- The balance 3,00,100 shares along with the unsubscribed portion of 11,6000 shares out of the preferential quota were offered for public subscription during July.

1987

- The company undertook to set up a project at Halol for the manufacture of 140 tonnes per year of Wedge Wire Screens, Leasehold land admeasuring 11,200 sq. mtrs. was allotted by GIIC
and a plant with an installed capacity of 200 tonnes per annum of Looped Wedge Wire Screens of stainless steel, brass, copper and high carbon steel was set up at GIIC Industrial Estate, Halol, Panchmahal District, Gujarat. Plant and machinery were imported from the Company's collaborators from U.K. and from Verson International Ltd., U.K. The plant was commissioned on 15th March.

1990

- The Company entered into a foreign technical and financial collaboration agreement with N. Greening Ltd., Warrington, U.K. who also agreed to contribute to the equity capital of the
Company to the tune of Rs.12 lakhs. The colaborators were to provide complete technical know-how and provide technical assistance during erection of machinery, trial production, etc.
Plant and machinery were also to be supplied by them.
